It’s Wednesday and I’m just now able to mentally revisit Phoenix Comicon. It was vastly different from last year and in all good ways. Last year I had a goal of doing panels at PHXCC and was invited to 4 panels this year! WOOT. My goal is to be an actual invited guest for next year and get on some writing panels as well.
This weekend launched Anna Hyde in Jekyll Park and the second edition of Bohemian Grove!
But that didn’t mean my other books took back stage. Alice Hill in Silent Wonderland sold out with the excitement of the upcoming film and several of the limited edition collectors prints. (Better get yours now!)
CLUSTERS was a big seller as well because we always have the Mystery lovers and Isle of Otta got tons of attention even though the book doesn’t release until late this year. Between the charity auction and the Norse mythology panels, we were all about Vikings this weekend.
My favorite parts of the weekend were (in no particular order)
my new awesome friends – the Shafers and the Villafanes. I had so much fun with these guys this weekend and it felt like I knew them for years. (If you go to Ren Fair in Phoenix make sure to check out Tim and Amy Shafer on the musical stage and make sure to check out Villafane Studios — talk about a genius artist)
Larry and Jackson going to their first ComiCon.
Veronica (my awesome beta reader and dedicated ComiCon volunteer) made me a zombie keychain. It’s how my weekend started and really set a great tone for what was to come.
And of course, meeting so many new readers.
And… I did get my fry bread pizza that I’ve been talking about since last year. it was just as delicious as I remember it. Thank goodness we walk miles a day at con!
And… hanging out with familiar faces as well. You guys know who you are and it was wonderful to see you! ON TO THE NEXT!
